19, Mission College - Business

What is your career ambition and what have you done to prepare for it?
My career ambition is to become a successful business woman, to have my own business and to be helpful to the community. I'm currently attending college to obtain a professional degree, meanwhile working as an intern to build up experiences and knowledge for my career and future goals

What personal accomplishment are you most proud of having achieved?
As a teacher assistant for Fremont High School District last summer. I had an opportunity to help the ESL program by teaching the students English and the reality of "gang" and "drug"

What person would you most like to meet? (Describe in detail why)
I would like to meet the First Lady Hillary Clinton, because she's the most knowledgeable woman politician I know of. I wish I could have a chance to discuss with her about woman's rights in America

What do you believe is the biggest obstacle you have been faced with in your life and how did it affect or change you?
I believe the biggest obstacle in my life was choosing a right career for myself. I used to dream of becoming an optometrist, but after taking several courses in the major, I realized it was not a good match with my talent and interest. I also learned that sometimes we have to turn around to see if what we're doing is worthy of our time and energy

If you were crowned MISS AO DAI, what will you do to help Vietnamese Community or others?
I would like to help to open a Vietnamese Senior Center. For years, I've known so many vietnamese american elders that are lonely in their homes while their family are at work and school. With the Vietnamese Senior Center, I believe they will be happy to socialize with each others in their own language
